Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis recently shared his criticism of Victor Wembanyama following his debut for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Summer League. As a former NBA player himself, Davis was quick to voice his opinions on Wembanyama’s performance.
The French basketball player made his NBA debut and performed exceptionally well by scoring 18 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking 4 shots in an average of 27 minutes of play over two games in the NBA Summer League. He was previously a member of the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Clippers. However, another player who was selected as the No.1 pick in the 2023 Draft called him “soft” and criticized his physical appearance. Despite this, many have praised the French player for his impressive height and skills, including LeBron James who referred to him as an “alien”. Glen Davis also commented on the French player’s performance, comparing him to a baby giraffe or Bambi.
The former player, aged 37, expressed doubt about Wembanyama’s ability to handle the suffering that comes with playing in the NBA. It’s worth noting that Wembanyama himself said that the game is still less tough than what he experienced in France after his debut with the Spurs in the NBA Summer League. Moving on to Glen Davis, otherwise known as the ‘Big Baby’ in the NBA world, he was a standout player at LSU in the NCAA and was drafted as the 35th overall pick in the 2007 Draft. Throughout his career, he played for the Celtics, Magic and Clippers, averaging 8 points and 4.4 rebounds. However, Davis became more well-known for his off-court incidents, such as crying after being scolded by Kevin Garnett, getting arrested for drug trafficking, and facing charges for beating up a man outside a nightclub in Los Angeles.
